Meet The Therapists
Michael Meza, LMSW, CAADC
This world can be a challenging and unforgiving place. I want to invite you into a space of safety and healing without stigma or judgment. It is important to be heard and understood. I come from a trauma informed approach which simply means I understand how the past can shape our present. I provide services to an array of beautiful souls that may have survived abuse, tragedy, grief, or loss. If you have made it this far, then that means you are a survivor. I want to help you transition into a place of balance and hope.
I specialize in behavioral health and have extensive experience in addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. I have been helping adults, youths, and families for over eight years. I am trained in EMDR, CBT, DBT, IFS, Motivational Interviewing, Crisis Management, Person Centered, and Strength Based approaches. I continue to stay informed, educated and trained in the ever-changing field of mental health.
You are not a consumer, a diagnosis, or someone who needs “to be fixed”. You are a person with life, value, and experience. I want to collaborate and learn with you as we find the best way forward together.
Michael graduated from The University of Michigan School of Social Work with a focus in interpersonal practice and mental health.
Michael is a licensed Master Clinical Social Worker in the state of Michigan and a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor from the Michigan Board of Addiction Professionals.
Elizabeth Aoki, LLMSW
Hello, I’m Elizabeth Aoki, a therapist with a focus on helping individuals through the journey of self-actualization and healing. With a trauma-informed approach, I provide compassionate, evidence-based support for those facing the challenges of a broad variety of mental health issues. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel empowered to make meaningful changes.
I believe that being a good therapist is not about doing something for someone, but rather it is about being something for someone. I create an accepting, calm place where you can come and be vulnerable and introspective, and you lead us where you want to go. I am just here to help you find some peace.
I hold a master’s degree in social work from the University of Michigan School of Social Work, along with a limited license to practice clinical social work. With a certificate in trauma-informed practice, I am dedicated to recognizing the impact of trauma in the lives of my clients and tailoring our work to meet their unique needs.
Over the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of working at multiple Dawn Farm sites, where I supported individuals in various stages of addiction recovery. Currently, I also serve as a group therapist for addiction within the Washtenaw County Jail, providing therapeutic support to individuals in a structured, group setting.
I believe in meeting clients where they are, fostering resilience, and encouraging self-compassion. Together, we can develop strategies that support your recovery and personal growth, empowering you to navigate life’s challenges with strength and confidence. I use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Crisis-Management skills, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients find their strengths and build upon them.
